Wellness: Green Cleaning Products
By Debra H Miller
Going Green
Most of us are concerned about wellness, but did you know that there is an underlying cause of concern about every day household cleaning products? According to the American Lung Association, indoor air pollution can be more than outdoor air pollution, from toxic everyday home cleaning products. And this affects people of all ages, including unborn babies, and has been shown to be one of the causes of many health problems from cancer to asthma and infertility.
That's because most commercial cleaners are loaded with toxic chemicals that can have a negative impact on your health as well as your family's. Here are four reasons that could help you make that final decision of switching to green cleaning products.
1. Healthier Home
Studies show that the use of a commercial cleaning spray once a week can increase the risk of developing asthma, which is the number one cause of school absences due to chronic illness in the U.S.
2. Better Environment
The use of cleaning products releases toxic chemicals not only in your home but also in the environment: in the air and waterways. Switching to green cleaning products reduces your impact on ozone depletion and global warming.
3. Safer Products
Too many cleaners represent a danger for their user. Risks of chemical burns to skin and eyes are real. Greener cleaning products are less corrosive and must meet strict standards in terms of toxicity and combustibility.
4. Improved Air Quality
More and more people are sensitive to strong chemical smells.
Many people have seen differences in many health problems by just switching brands to our stores while saving money.
